About us

De Meyer is a family-owned SME in its fourth generation, with more than 85 years of accumulated experience. But we are more than that. We have grown to where we are today by investing smartly in the right machines and, above all, in the right people.

We have 130 colleagues: all in their own way, from their own passions and interests, masters in mechanics. This cross-fertilization of different backgrounds, accumulated expertise and sense of innovation makes De Meyer a reliable partner that our customers can count on, wherever they go, worldwide.

Our culture & values

Our DNA is anchored in the 'De Meyer culture'. From generation to generation, from father to son, and that since 1829. Through the years we have evolved from blacksmith to purebred machine builder, active in 3 markets: Industry, Infra and Offshore.

The first De Meyer blacksmith we find is Ambrosius De Meyer, the “founding father”, who then passed on the torch to successively Josephus De Meyer, Alfons De Meyer, Jozef De Meyer, François De Meyer, Dirk and Frank De Meyer and today to John De Meyer.

The culture of De Meyer has grown and matured over generations. We consider this family anchoring the foundation of our DNA. Similarly, we hold on to some iconic heirlooms such as Alfons' anvil and Jozef De Meyer's front door.

Working together, helping each other, caring for each other and being proud of our achievements is the norm for us.

1934

Father Alfons and son Jozef De Meyer jointly founded 'De Meyer and Son'.

Activity: forging and steel bodywork

(Meanwhile) father Jozef and son François De Meyer transform the company into 'Constructiewerkhuizen De Meyer PVBA'.

Start of cooperation Berndorf - endless steel belts.

Activity: overhaul and repair

Sons Dirk and Frank De Meyer take over the business.

Activity: total industrial projects

2009

The company leaves Sint-Niklaas and moves into the brand new buildings on the industrial zone "De Zaat" in Temse.

Activity: start infrastructure projects and integral engineering

Dirk De Meyer continues the business alone.

The fourth generation of the family makes its appearance ... John De Meyer comes on board.

Construction workshops De Meyer is transformed into DE MEYER NV.

2022

After a brief illness, Dirk De Meyer died. Management of the company is taken over by Carl Bosteels (CEO) and Luc Beniers (COO).
