Wind Generator for Reynaers Aluminium
For Reynaers Aluminium, a new client within our industrial division, De Meyer designed and built a high-performance wind generator for testing façade systems and exterior joinery under extreme weather conditions.
The installation was developed in accordance with the international AAMA 501.1-17 and CWCT test protocols, enabling realistic wind loads to be simulated accurately and consistently. This allows the performance and watertightness of façade elements to be validated under controlled testing conditions.
The wind generator is equipped with a 2.7-metre diameter propeller and features a 500 kW variable frequency drive (VFD). Thanks to its continuously adjustable output, the installation can generate wind speeds of up to 38 m/s at a distance of 5 metres.
To accommodate a wide range of test configurations, the installation is height-adjustable from 3.5 to 7.0 metres. The entire machine is also CE certified, ensuring compliance with all applicable European safety and quality standards.

We would also like to sincerely thank the entire De Meyer team for the excellent collaboration throughout this project. It has been a truly interesting journey, and we have thoroughly enjoyed working together. We are delighted that the machine has finally been installed in our test centre and look forward to putting it into full operation in the near future.
We are proud to have received this wonderful testimonial from our client.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Reynaers Aluminium for their trust, their professional and well-structured collaboration, and their commitment throughout the entire project. Thanks to open communication and a shared dedication, we were able to successfully deliver a technically challenging machine—one that both teams can look back on with pride.
