De Meyer has been awarded the ‘VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship’

On 18 June 2026, De Meyer was awarded the ‘VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship’ certificate for the first time.

Because that, too, is what entrepreneurship is all about … making conscious use of what the planet has to offer and putting people’s well-being at the heart of everything we do.

In our strategic plan, Horizon 2027, we have set ourselves the objective, amongst other things, of making a conscious commitment to ‘sustainable business practices’.

In practical terms, this means that, as a company, we are committed to using the scarce resources the planet provides us with in a responsible manner, so that we can ensure that everything the planet has to offer remains available for future generations!

To ensure this ambition does not end up as mere rhetoric and empty promises, we have chosen to apply for the VOKA Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship.

In doing so, we wanted to commit ourselves to taking real, effective steps towards sustainable entrepreneurship.
In 2024, we presented our ambitious roadmap to the VOKA jury. We managed to convince the jury and received the necessary guidance to effectively achieve the agreed objectives.

Over the past few years, we have therefore worked hard internally to implement these actions, and at the final evaluation in May 2026, we once again managed to convince the jury.

It is therefore with a sense of pride – and gratitude to everyone who contributed to this – that we were officially presented with our ‘charter’ on 18 June 2026!

From today, we can therefore call ourselves a ‘VCDO laureate’.

In our strategic plan, Horizon2030, we will, of course, explore the theme of sustainability in greater depth.
