Smart optimization of a production line

A production line is only as strong as its weakest link

Optimizing a vital link in the production process. If you want to satisfy your customers, this is an essential skill for a company like De Meyer.

Our client specializes in the production of collagen used as a base product in the food and cosmetics industries, among others.

Source of these collagens are, for example, pork rinds fed into the processing line by pallet. But the existing input to this line did not meet the customer's requirements. It was unsafe to use and unhygienic, and in addition, the line fell down very often.

Therefore, the customer asked us to completely rethink this feeding installation and also to effectively build it and integrate it into the existing production line. From A to Z, as we like to do.

After an extensive engineering phase, a new "tipping seat" was built in our workshop and approved by our critical engineers!

This new technique allows you to efficiently and safely:

  • Palettes with pork rinds to be placed in the tipping bucket
  • Remove the protective film present
  • 'Tipping' the contents of the pallet into the pre-crusher system
  • To remove the palette and foil

The mechanical concept was completely redesigned and equipped with efficient servo drives.

The advantages of this new solution are numerous. The line is now optimally safe and ergonomic for operators and hygienic. With a shorter cycle time and higher energy efficiency.

Strong work done! Congratulations to all the teams involved!
